






ABOUT
Jamie is a working class Olivier award-winning theatre maker from Blyth, Northumberland. A constant advocate for working class representation in theatre who has been involved in this conversation nationally across various forms of media and parliament. Jamie has been mentored by Royal Court Theatre artistic director David Byrne, and is currently artistic director of Laurels Theatre, North Tyneside. As a playwright his writing credits include Gerry and Sewell (Live Theatre/Newcastle Theatre Royal) Artful Dodgers (National Theatre Studio- Co writer with John Hickman) Monkeys Blood (Vault Festival) Harold and Keith attempt to use zoom to discuss the potential takeover of beloved football club Newcastle United- An Opera (OperaVision) As a theatre producer he produced Flesh and Bone (Soho Theatre) which won the Olivier award for outstanding achievement in an affiliate theatre with Unpolished theatre, This Not Culturally Significant (Vault Festival/ Gilded Balloon) FCUKD (Bunker Theatre) as well as over fifty other productions across the Uk and Europe. Selected Directing credits include Gerry and Sewell (Newcastle Theatre Royal) Ghosts of Metroland (Live Theatre) Artful Dodgers (National Theatre Studio) & Your Ever Loving (Underbelly) He became the youngest person running a theatre venue in the country in 2015 when he set up Theatre N16 in London. The theatre went on to programme over 300 pieces of work and became a groundbreaking stomping ground for a host of new work. He was Associate producer at Live theatre 2019/2020, has been nominated for over a dozen OffWestEnd Awards and bleeds Black and White.
